Prototyping ideas to test, iterate, and validate that your website or app serves your customer's need
In this third of five, once-a-week workshops, we will regroup and recap from the previous sessions to share design inspiration and positive experiences that we have all had when using a variety of different products and services online. We'll share our findings openly and be encouraged to collaborate with one another to continue our ideation to find the best possible solutions for each use case.
Once we have some ideas of features and requirements for your website or app, we'll informally delve into what wireframing and UX is, whilst taking a look at some common best practices that we can follow. Together, we'll then enter the fourth and fifth stages of Design Thinking, Prototyping and Testing. We'll start by experimenting with page layouts and building some basic paper prototypes that we can test on one another, before later testing on your actual users. Starting off simple with pen and paper will allow us to quickly and easily iterate changes to validate as we go before we invest any significant amount of time building a website or app that doesn't satisfy your users' needs.
As we rapidly iterate and test to get to a workable solution that you are comfortable enough to put in front of your actual users for real feedback, we can make sure that your proposed solution next week is going to be the right one. And even if upon testing you find that you end up redefining the problem, or generating new ideas from those tests with actual users after the session—due to the non-linear iterative process of Design Thinking, you'll know what you need to do and be best positioned to make those necessary changes ahead of your website or app build in weeks four and five so you can hit the ground running, confident that the decisions you've made are validated and user-centred.
This is the third session in a 5 week course "Build a Website or App Without Code" and can be attended on its own, but we advise joining the five-week course.
This event is part of the Digital Pathfinders programme and funded by the North of Tyne Combined Authority which means only organisations and businesses from Newcastle, Northumberland or North Tyneside are able to attend.
This course is run in conjunction with the No-Code Incubator - a space for learning No-Code in the North East.
