Come along to a practical, interactive day exploring how data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) can create real value for your organisation, help you to streamline processes and become more resilient.
This collaborative event between the the Hartree Centre North East Hub and Digital Pathfinders will help to demystify AI and explore how to use data responsibly and effectively so that you have practical insights you can take away and apply immediately.
Join us to gain a clearer understanding of AI and machine learning, practical tools to take away, greater confidence in discussing and exploring data and AI, and new connections to help you along the way.
The day will cover a number of sessions, including:
Seeing the Value in Data
Data is everywhere, but how do you spot where the real value lies?
In this hands-on session, we will explore:
- How to identify hidden opportunities in your existing data.
- How data can drive smarter decisions and better outcomes.
- Common barriers that stop organisations from unlocking value.
- Practical frameworks to help you move from “data rich” to “insight driven”.

AI is everywhere in the headlines, but what does it actually mean for you?
This session breaks down:
- What machine learning really is (in plain English)!
- How generative AI works, and where it genuinely adds value.
- What AI agents are and how they’re being used in the real world.
- Real- world examples of AI solving practical challenges.

AI isn’t just about asking for help, it can be a powerful force for positive change.
In this session, we will look at:
- Inspiring case studies of AI being used for social and environmental good.
- What “Responsible AI” really means in practice.
- How to design AI systems that benefit people, communities, and the planet.

AI tools are making it easier than ever to build software and digital services, but powerful tools don’t automatically create the right UX design.
This session covers:
- Why good UX and service design matter more than ever.
- The risks of relying on AI prompting without strong design foundations.
- How design thinking leads to better products and outcomes.
- Practical principles you can apply (whether you’re technical or not).
Panel Discussion, Drop-In Clinic & Q&A
We will also host an interactive discussion and open Q&A session, giving you the opportunity to ask your own questions, explore your organisation's specific challenges and learn directly from the experts.
